PATIENT NOTICE

Dr Roger Paterson has now retired from his work at St. Margaret's Health Centre, having been with us for 30 years. We will all miss him as a colleague and a friend as part of the health care team and know that the many patients he has helped will miss him too. We wish him many happy and healthy years of retirement.

 COVID-19 Vaccination Programme

We are very keen to keep our patients informed of where we are in the COVID vaccination programme but occasionally we fall behind due to the current workload.

We are strictly bound by the rules on priority groups to be vaccinated set by the Scottish Government and currently have finished all 1st vaccines to groups 1 - 6 with only a few patients still to be appointed and are rapidly working our way through the 2nd vaccines.

If you are an unpaid carer and have not yet been vaccinated you can click the link below to register for a vaccine.

Self-registration portal for unpaid carers

For Patients in Groups 7 – 9 and patients 49 years and under

You will be appointed by NHS Tayside using the national ServiceNow appointing system.

This system utilises patient postcodes and appoints them into one of their vaccination centres at Dewars, Pitlochry or Blairgowrie.

As with all new systems there may be a few patients who would prefer a different appointment, or appointment venue and the letter you receive will advise you how change this. If you cannot get through on the supplied telephone number (01382 423108) try emailing tay.c19vaxlocalenquiries@nhs.scot

Currently patients under 49 years of age are receiving their appointments.

These letters will arrive in BLUE envelopes

This is all the current information we have so please do not contact the Health Centre.

Welcome to St. Margaret's Health Centre Website

We are a purpose-built health centre situated in the grounds of St Margaret‘s Community Hospital (14 beds) here in Auchterarder. We cover a widely scattered rural practice providing a very broad spectrum of medical care. The health centre has suitable access for all disabled persons, having all patient services on the ground floor, and there is a separate WC for disabled patients.

We provide care for approximately 10,500 patients covering an area of 100 square miles.  This care is provided from two centres - the health centre here in Auchterarder and our branch surgery in Dunning.

Health and Happiness

Our team are dedicated to your continued good health and approach your care with professionalism, discretion and friendliness. You can count on a warm welcome from everyone involved here at the practice.

St. Margaret's Hospital

St Margaret's Hospital is a great asset to the local community, allowing not only in-patient care but some additional services including podiatry and physiotherapy.   A range of out patient services are also held there. Due to COVID restrictions all minor injuries are now being seen at St. Margaret's Health Centre during the opening hours of Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm.  Outwith these hours minor injuries should contact 111.

Reminder to our patients May 2021

Even although we are currently providing a reduced service at the Health Centre our ON THE DAY TELEPHONE TRIAGE SURGERY is still taking place each morning for patients to receive a callback from a Health Professional.  Your callback will usually be between 8.30am and 1pm but during extreme busy times your callback may be after 1pm.

To request a callback please phone the reception before 10am.

Calls after 10am requesting to speak to a GP on the same day are classed as on the day emergencies and are dealt with by the oncall GP.  The oncall GP can be very busy and it might take a bit longer for them to call you back so whenever possible please request a same day call back by 10am.
