PATIENT NOTICE

Covid Vaccine - 10th February 2021 update

We are still continuing to work hard to deliver Covid immunisations to our patients and have now given the first dose to almost all of our housebound patients and those aged over 80 years of age.

We are currently working through the list of those aged 70 - 79 years of age and those who have been in a shielding category. This is being done through a combination of week day and Saturday clinics. If you are in this category you should have been contacted by now and offered an appointment.  Weather permitting we aim to be finished this category by Sunday 14th February.

We will soon be working through the list of those patients aged 16 - 64 years of age who have an underlying health condition or are an unpaid carer, this will include all adult carers and young carers aged 16 - 18 years of age.  If you are in this category we will be contacting you soon to offer you an appointment.  Weather permitting we aim to be finished this category by Sunday 28th February.

However, we have now reached capacity in what we can deliver as a practice as we have to continue our normal service with the Covid immunisation programme being additional work for all our staff (with the same absences that others are experiencing due to Covid!). We have also had to take into account that we will have to repeat the process again to get everyone their second dose in a few weeks. For this reason, the Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership have taken on responsibility for immunising all those aged 65 - 69 years of age. If you are in that age category, they will be in touch with you directly to arrange an appointment at Dewar's Rink in Perth. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note if you are over 80 years of age and we have not been in touch with you please contact us.

Welcome to St. Margaret's Health Centre Website

We are a purpose-built health centre situated in the grounds of St Margaret‘s Community Hospital (14 beds) here in Auchterarder. We cover a widely scattered rural practice providing a very broad spectrum of medical care. The health centre has suitable access for all disabled persons, having all patient services on the ground floor, and there is a separate WC for disabled patients.

We provide care for approximately 10,200 patients covering an area of 100 square miles.  This care is provided from two centres - the health centre here in Auchterarder and our branch surgery in Dunning.

Health and Happiness

Our team are dedicated to your continued good health and approach your care with professionalism, discretion and friendliness. You can count on a warm welcome from everyone involved here at the practice.

St. Margaret's Hospital

St Margaret's Hospital is a great asset to the local community, allowing not only in-patient care but also treating minor injuries between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday.  Any minor injuries "out of hours" should contact NHS 24 on 111 for advice.  A range of out patient services are also held there.

Reminder to our patients January 2021

Even although we are currently providing a reduced service at the Health Centre our ON THE DAY TELEPHONE TRIAGE SURGERY is still taking place each morning for patients to receive a callback from a GP, nurse or practice pharmacist.  Your callback will usually be between 8.30am and 1pm.

To request a callback please phone the reception before 10am.

Calls after 10am requesting to speak to a GP on the same day are classed as on the day emergencies and are dealt with by the oncall GP.  The oncall GP can be very busy and it might take a bit longer for them to call you back so whenever possible please request a same day call back by 10am.
